FASTell Girl
Afterschool Program for girls ages 10-14
Our comprehensive behavior management program is specifically designed to combat the devastating effects of depression and anxiety, empowering these individuals to thrive and reach their full potential.
That’s why our program incorporates three key components to address the intensive holistic needs of our participants.
The B.E.T. System
Behavior Management: Our Aunties (professional behavior management counselors) prioritize the development of healthy social and emotional skills. FASTell Girl provides a unique after-school program model proven to generate long-term benefits in psychosocial, psychological, and physical well-being through behavior management skills training. This allows those affected by complex adverse childhood experiences to explore their emotions, develop self-awareness, and build positive relationships. Our goal is to equip them with the tools and strategies needed to effectively manage their emotions, navigate challenging situations, and foster healthy connections.
Exposure/Environment: FASTell Girl has harnessed the power of mentorship through our Sisters to specifically empower girls in exploring their true selves through the realms of creativity and feminine beauty. Our program goes beyond traditional mentorship by offering a diverse range of engaging activities, such as custom wig and jewelry making, makeup application, and creative writing. By delving into these artistic pursuits, we provide our girls with the tools to express their individuality, tap into their creative potential, and build confidence in their unique beauty.
Tutoring: Through personalized academic advisement, our Friends help our mentees to recognize their strengths, address their weaknesses, and build a solid foundation of knowledge and skills. With the intention, of shaping a new mindset in our girls to begin to see challenges as opportunities for growth, and setbacks as temporary hurdles to overcome. This shift in mindset not only improves their academic performance but also positively impacts their overall self-image, fostering resilience, determination, and a belief in their own capabilities.
Model2Mentor
Life Skills Development For Young Women ages 15-21
Model2Mentor Life Skills Program is designed specifically for young women aged 15 to 21 who have encountered significant obstacles due to two or more childhood adverse experiences or major traumatic events. We understand that these challenges can make navigating through life hopelessly difficult, and that’s why our program is here to empower and equip young women with the essential tools for personal and professional growth.
Our Model2Mentor program focuses on three key areas: life skills, career development, and social skills through community engagement. Through our comprehensive curriculum, mentees embark on a 90-Day journey of self-discovery, skill-building, and mentorship
Crucially, our Model2Mentor program pairs mentees with dedicated mentors who provide ongoing support, inspiration, and coaching throughout the entire program until graduation. Our mentors serve as role models, offering guidance and encouragement as mentees navigate the challenges and celebrate their achievements. This invaluable mentorship relationship creates a safe and nurturing environment for personal growth and helps foster lasting connections.
Impact
Since its inception in 2018, the FAStell Girl Model2Mentor program has achieved remarkable success, mentoring nearly 100 girls and leaving a lasting impact on their lives. Our program is dedicated to measuring success through a comprehensive assessment that includes various key indicators.
Significant measures of success lies in the improvement of academic and test scores, completion of educational and career development programs, and witnessing the personal growth of our mentees as they navigate their educational and career journeys. We measure success through the attainment of milestones, such as high school graduation, enrollment in higher education institutions, securing internships or employment, and the development of leadership skills. These accomplishments demonstrate the resilience, determination, and personal development our mentees have experienced throughout their participation in the program.
